[ Lions in SB ]
We all know Mtn Lions exist in Santa Barbara and a report came in today that stated; "... recent encounter occurred shortly after midnight Wednesday when a northbound vehicle on 101 near Dos Pueblos Canyon Road struck and killed a mountain lion. ... ". I can't link the article b/c SB News Press wants not only a login but $$ for their e-subscription. No thanks SBNP!
Another weird story today that doesn't pertain to a Lion attack but rather, get this, a deer attack!

[ Pumpkin Curving ]
Every year I am amazed by creativity and craftsmanship of pumpkin carving. But this has got to be the best!

[ Sony city commercial ]
Sony filmed a cool commercial on Kearny St in San Francisco. The commercial was for a new LCD TV and they used super bouncy balls in the ad. That would have been FUN to watch these balls bounce in full force down the street! JWZ got some great shots of the making of the commercial.

[ Morgan Hill sightings ]
Two Mountain Lion
sightings in Morgan Hill, locations were Bentley Dr and the other on Scott's Bluff Pl. Could be the same Lion or a family traveling across the valley.
Henry Coletto makes some very important comments regarding Lions roaming the neighborhoods. His comments are contrary to what you might here from the news media.

[ Fast Food Wine ]
A scientist has found a way to speed up the aging process for wines. He came about this while trying to find a way to make his favorite sake taste smoother. I love it!
Well if this makes it out into the real world, maybe one day on your patio a friend just be heard saying, "hmmm, has a bit of wafer-thin platinum electrodes on the back end."
What would you drink if you had this process at your finger tips? I'd start with a
1985 Silver Oak Cellars, Alexander Valley Cab., yummy.
[ Joe's Collage ]
A while back Joe sent me some pictures and today I finally posted them. I think I'll do the same template with pictures of Mike & Jill's family.

[ FDA doesn't like those greens ]
The FDA "is issuing a nationwide warning to consumers against eating certain pre-packaged Dole salad products because these products have been associated with an outbreak of E. coli O157:H7 in Minnesota. The affected products include three brand names and are labeled with 'best-if-used by' dates, as listed below, and a production code beginning with 'B250.'"

[ And so we arrive... ]
Finally we see the day that NHL is back in our lives. Tomorrow the Sharks open in Nashville with new rules and new TV sponsors.
The Sharks open the 2005-06 season with an average age of 26. Many NHL writer's are predicting the Sharks to take the West and will be there for the next few years due in part to Wilsons team building strategy. We are also driving with 8 Defensive skaters. With today's roster, our youngest player is Milan Michalek and the oldest being Scott (Scotty)Thornton. We have players from Finland, Sweden, Newfoundland, Canada (11), USA (5), Germany (3), Kazakhstan, Czech Republic. Our shortest players are Mark Smith & Vesa Toskala at 5'10" and our tallest is Scott Parker at 6'5". Scott is also a local to the area, born in Hanford which is only 33 miles south of Fresno.
I've been waiting a couple years to see Marcel Goc play here and he is now officially on the roster!! Great job Goc! He has impressive numbers and has made a name for himself in the "minors". Let's see what Cleveland Barons have done with him and Clowe. Speaking of Clowe, I remember watching him during the 2003 preseason practices at Logitech and he looked strong. I was shocked when he didn't make the roster.
Marcel Goc, Ryan Clowe and Josh Gorges have changed their numbers to; Goc from 57 to 11, Clowe from 38 to 29 and Gorges from 40 to 6.
Godspeed Team and let the puck drop!
