Santa Clara Train Station
Caden had the opportunity to see two trains! The conductor waved to him and blew the engine horn. I think Caden enjoyed the visit.

Caden updates
Caden is doing great! Hands down.
His ear infections have decreased and a recent ear test showed no flaws. So looks like he will not be having the tubes installed, at least for now.
Over the last two days something has been bothering him and we think it is a tummy ache, of some type. he has been waking up on the hour and sometimes more than that. He is just lying there in bed, eyes closed still, crying out. It sounds as if he is in pain but hard to tell as the cries are mixed. Tuesday night his crying would start around 1am or so and continue till 5am. Last night is started at 8:15pm and by 8:50pm he had cried three times. I decided to give him some Motrin to help the pain as this was clearly a pain cry I was hearing. While he was being given his medicine he wanted some crackers and so he had a few. Both seem to have worked as he slept through the night until 6:20am. We'll see what happens tonight.
With the weather permitting we are hoping to take him and Boone to the beach, probably Half Moon Bay [1 & 2]. Caden hasn't been to the beach in months and it will be the first time as an interactive Caden and as a walker (runner) so we hope it works out.
Baby Einstein
Caden loves to watch Baby Einstein. He doesn't watch TV per say nor traditional movies. At daycare he watches some Barney and at home it is Einstein. Both provide him speech development, so it's a plus.

Teeth Brushing
Caden is learning to brush his teeth and he enjoys it! He loves sticking the brush in his mouth and Cath is working with hi to actually brush them himself.

Increasing Vocabulary
Caden is increasing his vocabulary these days. He knows says; "hello", "that" and "dog". He is running more these days than crawling. He loves to run around the dinning room table and talking to himself as I prepare his dinners. I just love this time of the day as it is the only time we really have with each other during the week.
We continue to work on his sign language even as his vocabulary develops. Right now he is working on Bird, Flower and Good Night. He knows dog, jet (plane), mom, dad, more, hungry, and all-done.
I'll find an updated picture and post it soon.

Caden pictures from Nov 08 to Jan 09
It's been awhile since I have posted pictures of Caden. So today I am taking advantage of a canceled meeting to post some from my iPhone.
Hockey gone but not forgotten
Well I went off and sold my hockey gear. No longer playing so why keep it tucked away in the garage to just take up room? It was fun packing up the gear and thinking about so many fun games and practices. Oh and not to forget all the fun street games behind Good Sam in LG and Friday afternoons behind one of the old campus Netscape buildings.
I saved a picture for keeps sake. My trusty helmet which probably saved my life a few times ;)
I played for about 5 or 6 years in a league at Rollin Ice. It was an official indoor rink with all the flex boards just as you might see at an NHL game. They do hurt a bit if you hit them at the right angle, but just a bit, and that is part of the fun. Our team was formed from a group of coworkers from Bay Networks and which eventually took on people from Nortel and Cisco. As the dot.com busted our team took on more and more players from teams that fell off from no longer having sponsors. Which happened to us too so eventually our team jerseys, which were of a slate blue color, took on this multi-blue-colored jerseys. hahaha
We made it to the playoffs a few times and I don't recall us making it past the first group. Oh well, it was fun fun fun!
I then joined the SAR team which we have mandatory meetings three times a month, aside for call outs, and this conflicted with my hockey nights. So I choose the SAR team and hockey was no more. That was 4 or 5 years ago. Although I miss it, SAR gives me a different perspective in life then what hockey could ever give me.
