[ And so we arrive... ]   Finally we see the day that NHL is back in our lives. Tomorrow the Sharks open in Nashville with new rules and new TV sponsors. The Sharks open the 2005-06 season with an average age of 26. Many NHL writer's are predicting the Sharks to take the West and will be there for the next few years due in part to Wilsons team building strategy. We are also driving with 8 Defensive skaters. With today's roster, our youngest player is Milan Michalek and the oldest being Scott (Scotty)Thornton. We have players from Finland, Sweden, Newfoundland, Canada (11), USA (5), Germany (3), Kazakhstan, Czech Republic. Our shortest players are Mark Smith & Vesa Toskala at 5'10" and our tallest is Scott Parker at 6'5". Scott is also a local to the area, born in Hanford which is only 33 miles south of Fresno. I've been waiting a couple years to see Marcel Goc play here and he is now officially on the roster!! Great job Goc! He has impressive numbers and has made a name for himself in the "minors". Let's see what Cleveland Barons have done with him and Clowe. Speaking of Clowe, I remember watching him during the 2003 preseason practices at Logitech and he looked strong. I was shocked when he didn't make the roster. Marcel Goc, Ryan Clowe and Josh Gorges have changed their numbers to; Goc from 57 to 11, Clowe from 38 to 29 and Gorges from 40 to 6. Godspeed Team and let the puck drop!
